Critical Police Staffing Need: Join us at Chandler City Council meeting

Chandler Community Members,

]Please join the Chandler Law Enforcement Association (CLEA) at the Chandler City Council meeting as our elected officials address the critical police staffing need in Chandler.

Police staffing levels have not increased since 2008, despite Chandler's continued growth in every area, including the number of residents, businesses, employees, business travelers and tourists, daily traffic counts and special events.

Chief Sean Duggan will present information about the staffing shortages and its consequences to the City Council at the next meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 8 in the Chandler City Council Chambers, 88 E. Chicago St.

We are hopeful that we can come to a resolution that serves Chandler residents and the police officers that protect them, but your presence and support is important to this process.

If you aren't familiar CLEA, I invite you to visit our web site at to learn more. We represent more than 250 Chandler Police Officers and Employees and our members are the officers you probably see most often. We respond to emergencies, 911 calls, patrol neighborhoods, work events, visit classrooms and investigate crimes. We are also your neighbors, coaches and volunteers, and care deeply about keeping Chandler safe.

We're always happy to engage in conversation or answer any questions you might have. I look forward to seeing you at the Council meeting on Thursday night.
